Hosting a Visitor During a Hanoi Apartment Stay: Ask First

Inviting a friend, colleague or relative to your Hanoi apartment may seem simple, but visitor arrangements should be checked with the property first. An apartment reservation gives you the use described in the booking; it does not automatically answer how additional people may enter or stay.

Describe the visit accurately

Tell the property whether someone will stop briefly, join a meal or stay overnight, with the date and number of people. Ask how entry and any reservation update work for that situation. Space in an apartment does not itself authorise an extra guest, and permission for one visit should not be stretched to a different group or date.

Distinguish a visit from another overnight guest

Explain whether the person is coming briefly, joining a meal or staying overnight. Give the relevant date and number of people. These can be different requests under the property's current rules.

Do not assume that unused beds or a spacious living area allow additional occupants. Guest capacity and the reservation details still need to match the approved arrangement.

Ask about access and notice

Confirm whether advance notice is needed, where the visitor should arrive and how the property handles entry. Ask what information is required through its appropriate private channel. Avoid forwarding access codes or keys without permission.

If you are hosting a colleague, share only the practical directions needed for the visit. Personal room and access information should not be posted in a broad group chat.

Check any effect on the booking

If a visitor will stay overnight, ask whether the guest count or offer must be updated and what conditions apply. Obtain the revised confirmation before treating the arrangement as accepted.

For a longer stay, do not infer that visitor rules disappear because the reservation lasts a month. Use the actual conditions for the accommodation you have booked.

Keep neighbours and shared spaces in mind

Follow the property's current rules for noise, shared areas and departure. A social visit should not prevent other guests or residents from using entrances and common spaces.

If plans change, tell the property rather than assuming the original permission covers a different group or date. Clear communication is easier than resolving an unexpected arrival at the door.

Ask AN Residence about a proposed visitor arrangement before making commitments. Request the current process and confirm any change to the reservation; this article does not set or replace AN's rules.
