Hanoi Apartment Viewings: A Practical Inspection Checklist

A Hanoi apartment viewing is most useful when it tests how you will live there. Before the visit, list the features that are essential for your stay and the questions photographs cannot answer. Compare the actual unit with the proposed booking, not just with the best image in a gallery.

Walk through an ordinary evening

Enter with the bags you expect to carry, imagine preparing a simple meal, using the bathroom and resting while another guest works. Check which spaces and equipment that routine uses. Ask about details a short viewing cannot establish, such as current nearby work or service schedules. Record any essential feature in the actual offer rather than relying on memory of a representative room.

Walk the arrival route

Start at the building entrance. Check the approach, steps, lift arrangement and the path to the apartment. If you have mobility needs or a stroller, ask about measurements and obstacles that matter to you. A lift somewhere in the building does not describe the entire route.

Clarify how keys or access work and what to do if you arrive later than planned. Ask about the actual building rules rather than assuming unrestricted access.

Test the layout against your routine

Look at the beds, bedroom doors, bathroom access and the position of living and dining areas. If someone works while another sleeps, consider whether the arrangement provides the separation you need. Ask which items are included with the reserved category.

For cooking or laundry, check equipment rather than relying on a broad kitchen or washing-machine label. Ask how to use unfamiliar appliances and whether essential accessories are supplied.

Ask questions that a short visit cannot settle

Noise can vary by room, time and neighbouring activity. Ask about the unit's position, current nearby works and any issues the property knows about, without expecting a universal silence guarantee.

If connectivity matters, ask about the actual arrangement and what can be confirmed. A brief successful connection does not establish uninterrupted performance throughout a long stay.

Record the agreed offer

After viewing, request the category or unit, dates, guest count, included services, total and current terms in writing. If a specific feature influenced your decision, ask for it to be included in the confirmation.

A viewing is separate from securing availability. Do not assume the apartment is held unless the property confirms the reservation through its process.

Contact AN Residence to ask what viewing or current apartment information can be provided for your dates. Describe essential requirements clearly before making the booking decision.
