A monthly apartment price in Hanoi is useful only when you know what it includes. Request an itemised proposal for the exact dates and guest count, then compare the same service scope across options. A lower headline may describe a different living arrangement rather than a lower total cost.

Separate held money from accommodation cost

Ask whether a deposit applies, its purpose, how it is recorded and the agreed return process. Keep that line distinct from rent, prepaid services and usage charges. For each variable item, request the measurement basis and settlement timing. Then compare offers covering the same dates and service scope; a single monthly number can hide differences that matter over a longer stay.

Define the reservation period

State the full arrival and departure dates instead of simply asking for one month. Ask how the provider calculates the period and any partial extension. If dates are provisional, make that explicit.

Confirm the apartment category, occupancy and whether a particular unit is promised. Photographs of a representative room do not necessarily identify the unit that will be reserved.
